While my mask was/is drying, I puzzled over how to get B’s mask to fit him. No time to learn how to make a head cast, no time for any real mold. But! Aluminum foil holds its shape well. I grabbed B with a quick “I need your face” and squished a sheet of metal around his head.
Here, I thought I could just hop straight into shaping the mask. Paper’s light, right? Should be able to keep the face shape well enough without hardening something on top… Right? Heh. Wet paper is heavy, so the actual mask-making grew very difficult, very quickly.
It turned out a little lopsided, but in a quick test this morning it did (surprisingly) fit him.
Oh, and if you want an illustration of how small my skull actually is, take a look at these things side by side.
